The anti-diet

Well, the diet is on. Mom is looking absolutely fantastic and now I'm on it also. I suck so bad at dieting. I am a constant cheat. This is also complicated by the fact that I have a recent hobby of baking. It so fun to make something and then decorate it and then devour it. We made pumpkin cupcakes and Colby helped us cut up the laffy taffies to use as the faces and then recently I made cupcake sushi. It didn't really have an incredible taste, it was more for looks than for taste. They weren't bad tasting, just weird with the gummy bears, green tootsie rolls, and frosting. It's been a ton of fun.
Chris and I have been playing in a hockey league down in Provo, (actually on our way to the game now.) we haven't won yet, but we're getting better. It's great to spend time together, maybe Tyler would play with us when he gets back out here:)

Cake boss Ross

I've decided that I like the idea of making a cake. Duncan hienes took care of the body and I looked to Google to dress it up. It took the better part of the afternoon, but I think it turned out great.

Been awhile

It sure has been a long time. It's going pretty smooth out here in the Boston town.  Kinda slow, but we're getting enough jobs for now.  We've done a ton of fun things so far. The most recent was trip to Maine for a scenic drive and good eats. The trip started out early in the morning taking the drive. We stopped first at Nubble Point. there was cool lighthouse there on an island. Who doesn't love a great lighthouse? We spent quite a while there playing on the rocky coast. There tons of crabs to chase and catch. Bathe best were the starfish.  They were everywhere and easy to catch, they don't run away. We played for awhile in the water and then we went for lunch at Fox's for some Maine lobster. I dont remmber ever really eating lobster, especially when you have take it apart. It was messy, hot, and awkward. The taste was ok, but I  don't think it was enough to warrant the price or the work it takes to get the meat. After that it was a great afternoon playing frisbee on the beach. I love being out here on the coast. It was a fantastic weekend. I'd sure like to see some current pictures of the family, or the new house work.

We took a trip to Solvang California for a day trip in March. It's a Scandinavian town that will sell you anything you point at. On the way there we stopped for a short hike to a waterfall. It was pretty tall. We took a few pictures of it and merged them together.

In June, we went to Las Vegas for a week because I had to go to a training. The coolest thing was definitely not anything in town, it was the Hoover Dam and bypass bridge under construction. They almost have the arch completed. Below are two more panoramas pieced together. I really liked this last day of our trip. If you didn't know, you can click on any of these pictures to see a much bigger version with detail.

I realize that you probably wanted to see more cute pictures of the baby. Sorry, that the difference between my posts and Tara's posts.

Yeah we finally posted something :)

Wow do I have to make up for some lost time. Everyone else has posted so I need to put somethings on here from the last few months. First off, on one Saturday morning, Our family was at Shopko with Brittany and Spencer. Colby and Spencer were playing and decided to chase each other. It didn't last long. Colby tripped and hit his head on an end cap, resulting in this owwie.

This was his first major trip to the hospital. As you can probably guess, he got his first stitches.

A short time later we took the kids to Union Station to play with the trains. Here is Colby and Spencer playing.

On the 4th of July, our ward held a parade down North Harrisville Road. Colby was the youngest participant. He rode his bike the whole half mile to the church, tossing tootsie rolls as he went.

We also went to the zoo. Here is a pic of me and the boy looking at one of his favorite animals. It was awesome. We had lots of fun explaining all the animals to him. We even went to the bird show.

Colby also decided to try his hand at being like mom. Lets just say he doesn't have quite the finesse or experience when it comes to applying mascara.

Colby also got an awesome picture taken when Paul and Brittany blessed their new baby. Here he is with all of his grandmas together at the same time.

And finally for Halloween. He decided to be Spiderman. He loves Spiderman. We spent part of the evening explaining that he wasn't going to kiss Mary Jane that night. But he had a great time playing Spider Colby.

This was a vast improvement over the previous year when he feared that Elmo was eating him!!

And just in case you were wondering Scooter reprised his role as Superman.

Sunny California

Well, life is pretty good out here in California. We are excited to have visitors out for Thanksgiving.

We are slowly realizing that our 15 month old daughter does in fact control everything that happens in our household.

We really don't have too much to say, so we'll just post some photos.

First, we have the queen in her natural habitat..... the car seat. Those things apparently can be very comfortable if you are flexible and willing to experiment.

Next we have a family shot from our trip to San Diego. We met Tara's parents there while Van was at a training class.

Gem decided to give us a rare shot at her "pose of seduction". Notice how you can cover up half her face at a time and she looks like she is in a totally different mood. What talent.

Finally, we have gem with her mom in Tara's natural habitat.... Mario Kart.
